4 in 7 days !

...finished yesterday actually, 4 paintings well within 7 days, not bad...on to the next now though, another Liverpool FC badge, Batman and Robin embracing and another that is yet to be decided...

Paintings !

...what a busy week i've had, at the time of writing this three of the four paintings are finished and the last one (Sid Vicious) just needs it's second coat of black and that'll be finished aswell, an hour in the morning will do it ! Got two more planned and i'm thinking about a third, that's tomorrow though, as for today, i'm right now watching France v Romania and it's quite dismal to say the least, got half an hour to spare so i'm resting and then it's out for some food because i am starving hungry, hav'nt eaten all day, been far too busy, onwards and upwards as they say !

Painting !

..painting all day, painting all weekend, three out the four will be finished tomorrow, the fourth the day after, then it will be on to the next three, bring it on !

The Arts Council of England (RIP)

...what a bunch of stuck up stupid fuckin' twats, if i did a shit in a bucket and called it Toilet Training they would probably love it, in fact if i just got a bucket, wrote on it empty and stuck that in a gallery they would probably love that aswell, yeah you've probably guessed that they turned me down for my funding, fuck the rules and fuck the regulations, there is only one thing to do and that's to carry on regardless, some guy on myspace scribbles a little doodle on a piece of paper, looks like a two year old did it, calls it a map of the universe and get's a show in London, what a joke, artists like that are taking the piss, here's one for you, get a blank piece of paper, put a single dot right in the middle of it and call it vacuum, then stick that in you're gallery you brainless taking the piss so called artists out there make me sick, there is no justice, someone decides they want to open up a sunbed shop down chatsworth avenue and get's funding for that, i'll tell you what, when that happens i'll go along and take a photo of that sunshine in amongst all the shit and misery and i'll stick that image in an art gallery, fuck the arts council and fuck everything else, i am furious !

The Power !

just finished my latest vid, it's a shame youTube can only deal with low quality vids that's all i can say about that, anyway, it's another weird one and it's called The Power ! also just finished updating ddesign at the talentdatabase, my internet presence grows by the day, got more arty videos planned so stay tuned for more developments, meantime there's plenty of space walking going on 200 miles up in the air !

...started working on a new arty vid last night, i've called it The Power, it might turn out to be another ddesign classic, it's not that far off finished, might even finish it tonight, got some updates to do on my paintings page at www.ddesign.me.uk, i'm on it !

NASA TV

can't stop watching NASA TV, the Space Station and all it's goings on when it get's a visit from the Space Shuttle, absolutely incredible images to be seen !

Paintings !

...time for some new one's me thinks, actually started them yesterday, them being four, Christina Ricci x2, a StormTrooper, and Sid Vicious, all 18inch x 14inch, not that big and not that small, should'nt take me too long these one's, depends how things go and what happens inbetween, best i make a move and get on with it !

it's been a busy few days working on my website, the hard work has paid off and it's looking like it should do, most if not all the sections have been re-designed or updated in one way or another, the Next Gen Series 2 is finished and is online and it's on to Next Gen Series 3, also have a couple of other series in mind but i'll be keeping those ideas to myself for now, so what's next i hear you ask ?, i feel some new paintings coming on, havn't made my mind up yet but i do have one or two in mind and am thinking of starting them tomorrow, gotta keep things interesting, i could sit here for the whole of next week making little changes here and there to ddesigns online presence but i've not done any painting for a week or two now and i'm missing it, i do still have plenty to do on the computers but i'll fit it in here and there, 24 hours a day is the schedule, plenty of time to do great things, here's to creation and here's to what the next week will bring !

Oh My !

Incredible...a new friend of mine on myspace is the real thing, this has made my day, my week, my month, my year and my life big time and will give me more inspiration and energy than i may be able to deal with, life is indeed awesome, especially when the unexpected happens, i've always said expect the unexpected and i was'nt expecting that, awesome developments, i am indeed buzzin' !

JUNE !

wow how time fly's when you're having fun, May was a busy one, much the same as the rest of this year so far and with many busy days and months to come i can hardly contain myself, next saturday June 7th EURO 2008 starts, without England i may add, but that's alright by me, less stress watching England flatter to deceive as usual, so we'll be able to watch and enjoy and i am going to be cheering for Spain, so tomorrow i'm gonna start a couple of new paintings and get them out of the way before the football starts, when the football finishes sometime around the end of June i will then make my trip to London, exciting times in the world of ddesign, work will continue on www.ddesign.me.uk throughout the month as it will for the whole day today, here's to creation !

Busy Hectic 12 Hours a Day !

...so you can't please some of the people eh, well tuff fuckin' shit, negative vibes just have a positive effect on me, rub their noses in it, that's what i say, had a good 12hours of graphic design and creation today and my website is now starting to take shape and has real substance to it, redesigned the drawing section, redesigned the digital section, finished off the new Next Generation Series 2, have plenty more planned for tomorrow, here's to creation and negative vibes are just water off a ducks back, they do not matter and they never will, here's to tomorrow and more wonderful things, and here's to the future, it is indeed a bright one, for today the work is over and i'm gonna play some games for a bit a relax !

London Calling !

I feel another trip to London coming up, just checked out the details and i can get to London, spend 17 hours there and get back home all for £25 on the coach, and incredible deal if ever there was one, here's how it works, i leave my place at 10.30pm on a tuesday night, i get on the coach around midnight and arrive in London at 6.20am, London at this time of day is amazing, not so many people around and for an hour or so it feels like you've got the city to yourself, so it's walkabout time taking photo's until around 10am when the gallerys open, The National Gallery first at Trafalgar Square, a couple of hours in there being moved by works by Van Gogh, Leonardo Da Vinci, Monet and other world famous works of art, then head for the Tate Modern, another incredible place, taking photo's on all steps of the journey, so much to see in London, an amazing place indeed, this time i'll be looking forward to getting some nightime shots, not been in London at night yet, could be dangerous, the freaks come out at night, that's what they say, but being one of the freaks i have nothing to fear at all, so it's a long 17 hour day, leaving London at 11pm that night and getting back to the coach station around 5am, i should be back home by 6 or 7am, i'll be completely exhausted but i'll have around 600 photo's to play with and i'll never forget the experience, bring it on, the sooner the better aswell, it's a trip that's coming up soon, that's all i know and i really can't wait !

The Arts Council of England !

mmmm, heard a little story about somebody somewhere that had been given a grant to open a sunbed shop, this got me thinking, and as i was thinking i did a little bit of research on the net and found my way to The Arts Council of England, about 4 hours later i had downloaded the application form, some 40 pages long by the way, fully filled it in to the very best of my ability, put together a 5 page presentation of what ddesign is, what ddesign wants to be and how i see the future for ddesign, we are talking funding, for materials, funding to put on a show and funding to take things to the next level, the process takes 6 weeks and i await with anticipation to see what the Arts Council will make of ddesign !

Sleep !

...or lack of it more like, how can one sleep at a time like this, i've decided to write something down instead of kidding myself that i'm gonna be going to sleep, it's just not gonna happen, i'm not here because i wanna keep it to myself and i'm not here because i wanna keep it a secret, that artist round the corner is on my mind ? wonder what he's getting up to ? i'm gonna have to find out one of these days, networking they call it, but not in an internet way, in a real, i can see that you're painting in you're bay window everytime i walk past your place kind of way, can't be all that surely ?, otherwise i would already know about him and his work, am i feeling threatened ?, not at all, i'm just interested, a fellow artist living and working just around the corner, what if he's really successful ? what if he's showing working in gallerys in London and all that, and has an agent ? that's the kind of thing that i'm wanting, you know what they say, "it's not what you know it's who you know", true words indeed, especially in a little town like this where everybody knows everybody else and you're either in there or you're not, but to be in there round here you have to fall into place and do as you're told, don't even try rocking the boat or else you will be thrown overboard and left to float around aimlessly like some sort of driftwood, eventually the driftwood does find it's place though, washed up on some distant coastline like a castaway finding his very own island, yeah i like being different, i like swimming against the tide, i like doing the exact opposite to that which is expected of me, conform they say, abide by the rules that they have set out though generations of no-one answering back, it's not the artists way, not the real artist anyway, i know i'm a real artist because i am always hungry, hungry for food, hungry for success, hungry for materials, hungry for inspiration, hungry for images to work with, i'm always hungry for one thing or another, but like like the castaway and his island, it's all about survival, and i survive, and for as long as i survive i will continue to create great things...

Charles Bukowski !

incredible, on tuesday i sent the painting of Charles Bukowski across the pond to Brooklyn, New York, today, thursday, it is already on display in the BrooklynTECHNIQUES studio, a great and momentous day in the history of ddesign, may there be many more to come !

Contacts Contacted !

there is always contacts to be made out there in the big bad world, some good, some bad, how about those muppets that think they can get some design work done then don't bother paying the bill you send them, from here on in, no money, no design, simple as that, best thing about it though is that they take the designs you do for them then stick them on their crap profile page without the knowledge that they are low res images and they have no chance of scaling them up for print purposes, retards, all ddesign artwork originals are full on high res images, you only get them when you have paid you're bill, understand, people irritate me so much it's unbelievable, no wonder i just keep myself to myself and do what i do regardless, i am an artist, hear me fuckin' roar !

Random Updates !

first just took delivery of my new Timberland Boots, they are sick !...and so on to the random updates and why i'm always forgetting to update things, it's the painting, when you get into a painting you get really into, nothing else matters, not eating, not sleeping and although i might have plenty on my mind and be thinking of this, that and the other and making great plans, the painting comes first, it needs 100% concentration and 100% commitment, it's the way it has to be, otherwise it just would'nt get done, a painting is created in stages, these stages are determined by the colours or the shades, it is impossible to paint a stage halfway through and then leave it, each stage has to be finished, no matter what, painting for 12 hours at a time is quite the norm for me, my record is 14 hours only stopping to take on fuel, it is the way it has to be, being self taught i have learned along the way, learned from my mistakes and applied what i have learned to the work i do these days, getting up at 6am to start painting for 12 hours sometimes really takes it out of you, but the end results are well worth the effort, i once dreamed of being an artist, getting on for around 20years ago now, but never in my wildest dreams did i think i would be producing the work i do now, it's incredible, i love it so much that i find it really difficult to close my eye's and sleep, the mind does not shutdown, not ever, and although i've trained my mind to behave like a computer the one thing that is missing is the shutdown option, one day i will shutdown completely and all that will be left of me is the great things that i have produced, that is the only thing you can take with you when you're day comes, that what you leave behind, this is why i am an artist and this is what drives me on and on and on...wow

oh my god, so much to do and so little time to do it in, and i gotta change that picture at the top of this page, need to get a bit more organized, or a lot more organized more like, and i need to finish off the alien painting i'm working on, i better get on with it...

it's been quite a while !

wow it's been so long since i put down a few words, last summer in fact, what's been happening since then i hear you ask ?, plenty, that's what, standards have been raised, the ddesign studio has had a few upgrades along the way, just took delivery of my new laptop a few days ago and i'm well impressed with it, AMD64 Athlon X2, 2gb ram, high spec and it puts my 2 desktops to shame, so what's the plan then ?, well all my online activity needs to be updated and possibly a re-design altogether, got a couple of paintings to finish before i get into the online business though, Woody Allen and an Alien !, should take 2 or 3 days then i'll be free to update everything, stand by, i'm on it !

rained off !

damn weather, had a job on outdoors today painting 3 roses on the side of a ship, unfortunatly it's raining so i can't go do it and it will have to wait until tomorrow, nevermind, there is much to do here at my studio anyway, yesterday i uploaded 160 drawings, which i have been busy sorting out and putting together as a collection, links to these drawings will be available shortly, i have more drawings to scan aswell, a mountain of work is developing at ddesign and i like it !

busy doing nothing !

that's if such a thing exists, i'm always doing something, but some of them somethings feel like nothings sometimes, but it's all relevant to the whole picture so being busy doing nothing is good, because it's just a step to the next step, the next level is always just around the corner, and there have been plenty of next levels lately, so as i type this i'm on the eve of a busy period, i've got the side of a trawler to paint for a start off and painting that will set me off on other paintings and before you know it i'll have a few more new canvasses to try and sell, so here's to being busy !

furthur updates !

oh it's all coming together now, ddesign is linked across a whole variety of sites, myspace, deviantart, esnips, the saatchi gallery, flickr, skyalbum and finally here, and i'm well on the way to linking everything up, got the sales side of things sorted out and things are beginning to happen, i believe so anyway, i've set some fair prices i think, just seen some work today and it was pretty much on a level with mine and he's charging twice as much so there you go eh, my paintings are good and at a good price, they will sell, sooner or later, so yeah i've got a couple more to start but i'm concentrating on promotion at the moment, need to earn some money and fast, the bills have to be paid and that, hence my hungry artist fund, another fine idea of mine, why not that's what i say !

yeah two slideshows added to photo pages and myspace updated for another month, also started a war video but it's early days right now, been busy doing stuff lately, what can i say !

i'm serious !

If people do not consider being an artist a legitimate activity, and therefore do not take you seriously, they will not respect you, will not respect your work and will therefore not enable you to succeed. Instead they will undermine what you do and work against you. If you cannot change the mind of such people get away from them as fast as you can. Don't push the issue, just let them be. Seek people who understand what being an artist is about, people who respect you, take you seriously and are willing to help you.

It is also important that you do not feel guilty about being an artist, about your creative freedom, or about doing what you like instead of getting a "real" job. Being an artist is just as difficult as any other occupation, if not more difficult. There is nothing about it that makes one more privileged, or more fortunate, than if one had chosen another occupation. When someone tries to make you feel guilty it is nearly always because they are not happy doing what they are doing and hence jealous that you are doing what you like. This is a reflection of their choices, not of yours. There is no reason to feel guilty about having made the right choices for yourself. If anything, tell them to make different choices, to change their lives so they stop resenting what you do and start doing what they like, so they let you live your life without feeling the need to make you feel guilty about it.

i've been busy, what else can i say, full on painting mostly, but other stuff aswell, like visiting people, and being visited by people, and going out to get photo's, and going out for supplies, and going out to eat, and sorting stuff out, and sorting stuff out for other people, and just being really busy, and some sleeping aswell somewhere along the journey and then i've invented something else completely, can't talk about it at all but it's quite amazing, watching TV aswell and movies and listening to music oh and today some cleaning of my studio which is gonna have to be finished tomorrow, and yeah tomorrow, another busy day, much to do, not just some of the time but all of the time, yeah it's all go, ain't got no time for the go slow !

right it's late saturday night and i've been busy all day, and all week as it goes, working on a top secret project for a start off and that's all i'm ever gonna say about it, finished off the second Christina Ricci painting this afternoon then went out in the sunshine to see if there were any photo's to be taken around and about and there was'nt, so, it was back home to continue to develop things and i'm pleased to say that deviantart is taking off, i've had over 3200 hits on myspace and the ddesign hub of info and work is now all linked up, i can now concentrate on new work and update everything as i go along, i've gathered a pretty good amount of work and there is plenty more to come, after i have slept that is !

yeah that's what i've done today, there is over 50 impressive images on deviantART with another 100 postcard designs to come, those will be available for print and though the money is not great it will come in handy, that's if any designs dell that is, you never know anyway, least it's out there which is the main thing, anyway it's looking good that's all i can say, i worked hard today and so was able to go visit a friend who is living in a flat with a stunning view overlooking the whole of Torbay, i was quite inspired and was glad i made the jounrney !

ddesigned again !

yeah i've been doing some new work based on some old stuff, complete redo's basically, different size and shape but using the same images, sometimes they take on a whole new look and more incredibly sometimes i get them looking just like the originals, anyway, these so called "specials" can be seen at deviantART, the new home of all my photo manipulations, i've put them in the catagory of surreal art, which is what i think it is, they are not what they first appear to be and this makes them surreal, and i quote "Salvador Dali never looked that good"

sunday !

oh yet another productive day and weekend now i come to think of it, in fact i've been well busy all the time, that's probably why i hav'nt found the time to write about it, things are developing, work is developing and ddesign is developing, i've been doing my research, i've been working on linking my many talents, my many different projects and my many different interests, linking them all up through myspace, that's just for now, i have bigger plans than that, but for now, myspace will serve me well, my visitors went over 3000 today and my friends is about to go over the 1000 mark, not bad for just a couple of months, i've also got some top secret projects on the go but as they are top secret i can say nothing about them, so i'll do just that, i'm saying nothing, so yeah as it stands, there is myspace, there is eblogger, there is deviantART and there is the saatchi gallery, let's see what happens this week, should be interesting !

strange start

yeah after a strange start to the day things have worked out pretty good, done some good artwork today, a couple of flyers for a party in new jersey and a t-shirt design and logo for a open grave records in london, it's a competition but i reackon my design is mint and could win it, we shall see, other than that my paintings page is now finished and ready for linking up to myspace, may leave it for a while while i put some other stuff together, i'm on it right now !

bathroom ceilings !

what a load of shit, woke this morning to water pissing through my bathroom ceiling, all the electrics we're out, the fridge/freezer had defrosted itself all over the place and it's a proper mess round here right now, not the kind of start to the day that someone would be wanting, my landlady is in France having a good holiday with all the rent i pay no doubt, this sucks and is getting me down and the problem is that this is gonna be on my mind until it get's sorted, so it's affected everything, i'm getting wound up just writing about it !

expanding the horizons

been four days has it ? interesting, been well busy then, a new madona painting, an einstein one well on the way, a whole load of new photo manipulations and new myspace page which is now looking mint, a place of my own in the saatchi online gallery, oh yeah expanding the horizons like i said, and it does'nt stop there, i'm planning furthur expansions right now and they will executed any day now ! for now i'm having fun with creation and long may it continue !

another day another painting

it's gone really well again today, finished the Christina Ricci painting despite two visits from my sister, no problem though, i'm already on the next painting of Madonna and expect to finish that quick smart aswell, strike while the irons hot or something like that, truth is, i'm enjoying what i am producing right now and i just can't get enough of it, someone today said that i have far too much creative energy, that was their way of saying i work too hard, but what i say is if you can do it then do it cause tomorrow may never come and i've only got this moment right now and i need to produce a little bit of greatness, and that's what i am doing !

wednesday

nice and easy today, painted all day, simple as that, pretty much from when i got up until after 7.oopm then watched Liverpool get beat 2-1 in the champions league final, oh well, life goes on ! so yeah i've been messing about on myspace all day aswell, it's good stuff, more painting tomorrow and the day after and the day after that and so on and so on and on it goes !

5 days later !

wow it's been five days since i last wrote something, time flys when you're loving the painting, just finished Herman Munster today, i love it, my kinda painting, black and white, lol, anyway that's just the first of six i'm working on, a big angelina jolie, 2 christina ricci's, einstein and a madonna, they are all wicked images and if they turn out right they will be awesome, got another comission today from my sister cassie, nice painting of pink, already sorted out five different images for her to check out, two of which i really love and would love to paint so i hope she chooses one of those, that's about it, the sun is beating down on us and gave me a headache today when i went to pick Tori up from school, it get's too hot at times i gotta say, so yeah me and Tori had a good time messing about doing stuff on the computers, we printed her a TerraTori t-shirt, played on the PS2, she did a bit of work on a painting she's been working on for the past two weeks and she also loved telling me about all the time she's got off school in the coming holidays, so that's it, it's all good, the art is flowing and there is no stopping it !

another friday !

yep the week has flown by once again, this weeks big acheivement ? the madonna painting, finished thank god and sold within' an hour, not bad going, so what next ? more paintings, more artwork and more of everything else i've been doing, for tonight though, it's time to chill out !
