rained off !

damn weather, had a job on outdoors today painting 3 roses on the side of a ship, unfortunatly it's raining so i can't go do it and it will have to wait until tomorrow, nevermind, there is much to do here at my studio anyway, yesterday i uploaded 160 drawings, which i have been busy sorting out and putting together as a collection, links to these drawings will be available shortly, i have more drawings to scan aswell, a mountain of work is developing at ddesign and i like it !

busy doing nothing !

that's if such a thing exists, i'm always doing something, but some of them somethings feel like nothings sometimes, but it's all relevant to the whole picture so being busy doing nothing is good, because it's just a step to the next step, the next level is always just around the corner, and there have been plenty of next levels lately, so as i type this i'm on the eve of a busy period, i've got the side of a trawler to paint for a start off and painting that will set me off on other paintings and before you know it i'll have a few more new canvasses to try and sell, so here's to being busy !

furthur updates !

oh it's all coming together now, ddesign is linked across a whole variety of sites, myspace, deviantart, esnips, the saatchi gallery, flickr, skyalbum and finally here, and i'm well on the way to linking everything up, got the sales side of things sorted out and things are beginning to happen, i believe so anyway, i've set some fair prices i think, just seen some work today and it was pretty much on a level with mine and he's charging twice as much so there you go eh, my paintings are good and at a good price, they will sell, sooner or later, so yeah i've got a couple more to start but i'm concentrating on promotion at the moment, need to earn some money and fast, the bills have to be paid and that, hence my hungry artist fund, another fine idea of mine, why not that's what i say !

yeah two slideshows added to photo pages and myspace updated for another month, also started a war video but it's early days right now, been busy doing stuff lately, what can i say !

i'm serious !

If people do not consider being an artist a legitimate activity, and therefore do not take you seriously, they will not respect you, will not respect your work and will therefore not enable you to succeed. Instead they will undermine what you do and work against you. If you cannot change the mind of such people get away from them as fast as you can. Don't push the issue, just let them be. Seek people who understand what being an artist is about, people who respect you, take you seriously and are willing to help you.

It is also important that you do not feel guilty about being an artist, about your creative freedom, or about doing what you like instead of getting a "real" job. Being an artist is just as difficult as any other occupation, if not more difficult. There is nothing about it that makes one more privileged, or more fortunate, than if one had chosen another occupation. When someone tries to make you feel guilty it is nearly always because they are not happy doing what they are doing and hence jealous that you are doing what you like. This is a reflection of their choices, not of yours. There is no reason to feel guilty about having made the right choices for yourself. If anything, tell them to make different choices, to change their lives so they stop resenting what you do and start doing what they like, so they let you live your life without feeling the need to make you feel guilty about it.

yeah so what !

i've been busy, what else can i say, full on painting mostly, but other stuff aswell, like visiting people, and being visited by people, and going out to get photo's, and going out for supplies, and going out to eat, and sorting stuff out, and sorting stuff out for other people, and just being really busy, and some sleeping aswell somewhere along the journey and then i've invented something else completely, can't talk about it at all but it's quite amazing, watching TV aswell and movies and listening to music oh and today some cleaning of my studio which is gonna have to be finished tomorrow, and yeah tomorrow, another busy day, much to do, not just some of the time but all of the time, yeah it's all go, ain't got no time for the go slow !

right it's late saturday night and i've been busy all day, and all week as it goes, working on a top secret project for a start off and that's all i'm ever gonna say about it, finished off the second Christina Ricci painting this afternoon then went out in the sunshine to see if there were any photo's to be taken around and about and there was'nt, so, it was back home to continue to develop things and i'm pleased to say that deviantart is taking off, i've had over 3200 hits on myspace and the ddesign hub of info and work is now all linked up, i can now concentrate on new work and update everything as i go along, i've gathered a pretty good amount of work and there is plenty more to come, after i have slept that is !

yeah that's what i've done today, there is over 50 impressive images on deviantART with another 100 postcard designs to come, those will be available for print and though the money is not great it will come in handy, that's if any designs dell that is, you never know anyway, least it's out there which is the main thing, anyway it's looking good that's all i can say, i worked hard today and so was able to go visit a friend who is living in a flat with a stunning view overlooking the whole of Torbay, i was quite inspired and was glad i made the jounrney !

ddesigned again !

yeah i've been doing some new work based on some old stuff, complete redo's basically, different size and shape but using the same images, sometimes they take on a whole new look and more incredibly sometimes i get them looking just like the originals, anyway, these so called "specials" can be seen at deviantART, the new home of all my photo manipulations, i've put them in the catagory of surreal art, which is what i think it is, they are not what they first appear to be and this makes them surreal, and i quote "Salvador Dali never looked that good"

sunday !

oh yet another productive day and weekend now i come to think of it, in fact i've been well busy all the time, that's probably why i hav'nt found the time to write about it, things are developing, work is developing and ddesign is developing, i've been doing my research, i've been working on linking my many talents, my many different projects and my many different interests, linking them all up through myspace, that's just for now, i have bigger plans than that, but for now, myspace will serve me well, my visitors went over 3000 today and my friends is about to go over the 1000 mark, not bad for just a couple of months, i've also got some top secret projects on the go but as they are top secret i can say nothing about them, so i'll do just that, i'm saying nothing, so yeah as it stands, there is myspace, there is eblogger, there is deviantART and there is the saatchi gallery, let's see what happens this week, should be interesting !

strange start

yeah after a strange start to the day things have worked out pretty good, done some good artwork today, a couple of flyers for a party in new jersey and a t-shirt design and logo for a open grave records in london, it's a competition but i reackon my design is mint and could win it, we shall see, other than that my paintings page is now finished and ready for linking up to myspace, may leave it for a while while i put some other stuff together, i'm on it right now !

bathroom ceilings !

what a load of shit, woke this morning to water pissing through my bathroom ceiling, all the electrics we're out, the fridge/freezer had defrosted itself all over the place and it's a proper mess round here right now, not the kind of start to the day that someone would be wanting, my landlady is in France having a good holiday with all the rent i pay no doubt, this sucks and is getting me down and the problem is that this is gonna be on my mind until it get's sorted, so it's affected everything, i'm getting wound up just writing about it !

expanding the horizons

been four days has it ? interesting, been well busy then, a new madona painting, an einstein one well on the way, a whole load of new photo manipulations and new myspace page which is now looking mint, a place of my own in the saatchi online gallery, oh yeah expanding the horizons like i said, and it does'nt stop there, i'm planning furthur expansions right now and they will executed any day now ! for now i'm having fun with creation and long may it continue !

another day another painting

it's gone really well again today, finished the Christina Ricci painting despite two visits from my sister, no problem though, i'm already on the next painting of Madonna and expect to finish that quick smart aswell, strike while the irons hot or something like that, truth is, i'm enjoying what i am producing right now and i just can't get enough of it, someone today said that i have far too much creative energy, that was their way of saying i work too hard, but what i say is if you can do it then do it cause tomorrow may never come and i've only got this moment right now and i need to produce a little bit of greatness, and that's what i am doing !

wednesday

nice and easy today, painted all day, simple as that, pretty much from when i got up until after 7.oopm then watched Liverpool get beat 2-1 in the champions league final, oh well, life goes on ! so yeah i've been messing about on myspace all day aswell, it's good stuff, more painting tomorrow and the day after and the day after that and so on and so on and on it goes !

5 days later !

wow it's been five days since i last wrote something, time flys when you're loving the painting, just finished Herman Munster today, i love it, my kinda painting, black and white, lol, anyway that's just the first of six i'm working on, a big angelina jolie, 2 christina ricci's, einstein and a madonna, they are all wicked images and if they turn out right they will be awesome, got another comission today from my sister cassie, nice painting of pink, already sorted out five different images for her to check out, two of which i really love and would love to paint so i hope she chooses one of those, that's about it, the sun is beating down on us and gave me a headache today when i went to pick Tori up from school, it get's too hot at times i gotta say, so yeah me and Tori had a good time messing about doing stuff on the computers, we printed her a TerraTori t-shirt, played on the PS2, she did a bit of work on a painting she's been working on for the past two weeks and she also loved telling me about all the time she's got off school in the coming holidays, so that's it, it's all good, the art is flowing and there is no stopping it !

another friday !

yep the week has flown by once again, this weeks big acheivement ? the madonna painting, finished thank god and sold within' an hour, not bad going, so what next ? more paintings, more artwork and more of everything else i've been doing, for tonight though, it's time to chill out !

Suicide is Painless ?

so he finally did it, jumped, ended it all, life had become so unbearable, so empty, trapped in that prison which was his mind, the torture and the suffering, each and every second, each and every breath, absolute misery, no future, nothing to smile about, nothing to laugh about, no love, no care, and now where ?, did'nt want it no more, took a lost and lonely walk to a place most would not dare, did'nt give it a second thought, it all went quiet for a second, that blue sky and that whooshing noise, could'nt feel a thing, it had happened just like that, he had already turned off the life support machine a long time before they did !

yeah yeah yeah !

yeah i know it's almost been 6 days but shit happens don't it ! yeah got a strange phone call on friday and that just escalated into a full blown weekend disaster, was disturbed friday which messed up the first coat of the madonna painting cause i stopped halfway through for a few hours and then tried to carry on and it looked messy, i tried to put it right on saturday and that was'nt happening either so i think i started to shutdown from that moment, sunday got up first thing and there was a monsoon going on outside so i went straight back to bed, woke up just as the grand prix was starting so i led on the settee all day drifting in and out of consciousness kind of watching the grand prix and then final score straight after, got no idea what happened in the night ! so monday, new week, new energy, yeah eventually, monday did'nt get started till the afternoon, had to go out and let off some steam on my bike in the morning but then got into the madonna painting, got it looking better and made progress through the week, it's now thursday and it's nearing completion, should be finished tomorrow in fact, got a joss stone one lined up but i may have a little break after this madonna one, or maybe do a couple of easy small one's, i'll make my mind up pretty soon no doubt, so yeah i'm back on it anyway after a few days of madness !

Friday

wow what a day, printed 2 t-shirts first thing, nintendo controller and a Slash one, then finished the Kate Moss painting, then started the latest Madonna painting and then did a tattoo on my brother, "Ellie" across his wrist, then i went on myspace and spread some good vibes around, and while all this was going on i was disturbed by numerous different people throughout the day, all wanting something or other and well i just let it all pass me by and got on with what was important, the ART !

another day another t-shirt

yeah here we are again with another exiting day in the world of ddesign, today i gotta finish off the Kate Moss painting because someone is interested in buying it and i've got a couple of rare one off t-shirts to do, but i'm gonna cheat with them and print some iron on transfers, should work out fine, i hope, updated myspace last night and my page is looking pretty good now and i'm quite happy with it, for now, so no doubt there will be other stuff going on today but i'll write about that later !

war again and emmz the model

yeah what a day today has been, absolutely pissing it down outside, grey as anything and really mild, i got up and did six new photo manipulations with the model Emmz straight off, then after lunch went straight on to another war piece, the george bush one ! now i'm gonna change the ddesign myspace page and then possibly do some more digital stuff later, oh and i've updated my ipod and been out for supplies, it's all good !

yep i'm taking it easy today, no painting for a change, but on the drawing board is the WAR piece, nice and easy and it should'nt take that long, that's about it, got plenty of other stuff to do but it's lunchtime right now so i'm on a break !

busy day

well it's tuesday and most of the day has gone, been busy cleaning, washing, taking care of and feeding my daughter, been working on a war piece for the rest of the day, a bit here and a bit there though, we'll see how it turns out, right now i'm feeling like i could do with a really good nights sleep to recharge the batteries so it might be an early night tonight, but i would'nt bet on it !

Robocop

finally i finished my Robocop painting probably a week behind schedule but you all know how these things go, what with one thing and another, so it's on to the next set then, i'm wanting to paint Joss Stone and Madonna next, i'll see how the planning goes tonight before i make my decision, and there will probably be another couple of paintings in progress at the same time, what they are i do not know yet, i'll let you all know when i make up my mind !

the beast is back

yes less than 24 hours after my work PC died it's back again all brand new and better than ever with a RAM upgrade, a great relief and it only cost me £50, well worth it, on with the work then !

PC dead

well the problem is beyond me and as from this moment the PC is down in the shop getting some sort of diagnosis, i'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is'nt gonna turn out to be too expensive !

oh dear !

well it's late on sunday night, been painting all day and it's going well and Robocop should be finished tomorrow, unfortunatly my work PC has gone and died on me and it looks quite serious so i'm gonna have to get it down the shop to let them deal with it, so no new digital images for a while by the looks of it, kinda sucks but i'm sure it'll sort itself out out and besides it will give me more time to paint anyway, so it's not all bad, so i await tomorrow when i can get the dead PC out of here and up and running again !

sunday sunday

another day of creation then, today i'm gonna be wanting to make progress on the Robocop painting, it's been going on for almost a week now and it really should be finished !

Dr Who

what has happened to Dr Who ? it's just not the same since Billie left, it's on now and it's doing my head in, old BBC stars turning up in it, other has beens, and old woman, mavis from corination street, for fucks sake, what's going on with Dr Who ? i'm not sure i like it anymore !

saturday

well i've been busy on myspace most of the day, updating the football blog, and doing new designs, quite a few as it goes, about 8 or something like that, anyway they are available to view in the specials folder of myspace pics, i've just been downtown aswell for some supplies, there's a really cool breeze blowing and the air had the atmosphere of the end of summer aproaching, kinda weird as it's not yet even begun, we've been spoiled this april, the hotest in the history of the records, bring on the global warming then if that's how it's gonna be, i could get used to the sunshine, it's good for the soul and it's good for the art, you know what i mean right, anyway i'm hanging around now waiting for dr.who to start then i can have a break and eat some food !

saturday sleep in !

ok a late night last night and show it shows when you get up at 12.00 midday, it's ok though, we all need our sleep don't we, so i'm kinda refreshed and ready for another busy day of creation, let's have it !

what did'nt i get done ?

so it's been a hectic week and much work was completed, but what did'nt get done, the Robocop painting did'nt get finished for a start, but it's about halfway finished so should'nt go on for too much longer, Bro's nintendo absolute one off limited edition t-shirts did'nt get done either, but another run of t-shirts is'nt very far away anyway so that's ok, that'll get done this week sometime me thinks, other than that the week has gone to plan, so i'm gonna spend the rest of the weekend working on the computers then give it full steam next week with the painting, there's a commision of a poppy to do, mmmm, not sure about it though, and then there is maybe a portrait to be done, we shall see !

excellent, i now have my blog project hooked up to myspace, hopefully creating more interest in the ddesign empire !

internet progress

been working on the net for most the day, putting together stuff for myspace and for all 3 blog pages, got another one in mind for the PlayStation2, another little passion of mine, finished Need for Speed Carbon last night actually, it was hardcore, anyway it's all looking pretty good for ddesign over the internet and i'm looking forward to seeing how it expands and grows !

the days work

i've been busy all day updating the computers and trying to put together a ddesign collective of works and writings, and i've expanded things by getting a couple more blogs on the go, it's all good fun most importantly !

wonder if anyone does exactly what i do most of the time when it comes to watching a movie, right now i'm watching Arthur and the Invisibles, and when i say watching, i mean it's on but i'm hardly taking any notice of it all, and that's how it always is with a movie !

the ddesign oath...

i swear by the six of the six and the six and do the stuff they consider sick, this the thing that makes me tick, see the things that should not be, be the things that would not be, pay attention to the detail, go about it in the right way, never have to think about what to say, do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law, and this is the law, remember that, i am everything and everything is me, i get that everywhere i go, with the pen as a weapon, a pencil to draw upon, a camera or two for the moment, snip snap for a moment, how you like my style, gonna continue to do this for quite a while, develop and envelop it just keeps getting better , day after day, week after week, year after year, teat after tear, the ridiculous illusion, this time not true, i think i would like to be free, this creates the thought, the thought creates the reality, i must keep my eye on this one, the world is gonna be watching, the bigger picture mate, full of all that hate, no-one must get it, not so simple anymore, got a little complication to the matter, got a bit mad a bit like a hatter, hundreds of emails, let's hope not, i'm the only person that can settle this, this is the truth, and i am the truth, i'm the state of the art, the art re-invented, doing everything that i ever intended, more details for the detail, telling it how it really is, doing all that and then doing this, in simple terms in a nut shell, i do all this and how i do it well, i expect success, give me time, it just get's a little harder when you're approaching the bottom line, but get there i do, and forever and ever i will...
